Building a conference call application for Android

DeveloperGarden (www.developergarden.com) is the developer portal of Deutsche Telekom AG. Based on the core service platform, developers will be enabled to use Telekom backend services and integrate them into their own applications and Web 2.0 mashups. The provided services from Developer Garden include messaging services (e.g. SendSMS) and telephony services (e.g. conference call).

We will show in this talk, how these Developer Garden services can be used to build a conference call Android application, where the call can be planned and controlled from an Android device. We will demonstrate a running application making a live call with some participants and manage the conference by muting participants, adding participants etc.

The talk will present the services, the APIs provided by a SDK for Android, and how the conference call application can be used as an Intent in your own app. This enables developer and companies to offer smart applications for their clients and employees based on an existing and reliable infrastructure provided by Deutsche Telekom.
